I needed a couple peelers for a church ministry. I think my single direction peeler is the single best peeler I have ever used. I thought that I would give a double edge a try in case some people at church were left handed. Big disappointment. The blade cuts but does not clear the peel on each stroke. It also leaves peel behind on the vegetable. The double edge is much harder to use. I heartily recommend the single direction one though.
